Lucilia Manuela Neves, LCCE
Where do you live?
How long have you been teaching?
What was your journey to a career in childbirth education?
After preparing for my daughter's birth I was completely dazzled with the way it helped me cope with labor and delivery and the power it transmitted me to carry on. Right after birth I decided to become a childbirth educator and have taken several certifications since.
How, where, and what do you teach?
I teach couples on my own facilities to guarantee my teaching is impartial from doctors, clinics and hospitals practices. I also teach private courses in clients' homes.
Why did you choose to become a Lamaze Certified Childbirth Educator?
Lamaze gave me more tools to work with and to pass on to my students, along with security of giving away evidence-based medical and scientific information and techniques.
What or who influences your teaching?
What is your goal as an educator?
To provide excellent information, scientifically and medically based, with the approval of moms and their families, and to reinforce all women's capability of delivering children through natural birthing, and breastfeeding too!
How do you use Lamaze resources to support you as an educator?
I teach them in class and pass them on to students by email or paper support.
How could you suggest other members receive maximum value from Lamaze?
To keep informed through the periodical Lamaze magazine and newsletters, as well as the online teaching (since I live in Europe).
When you're not teaching, what do you enjoy doing?
I am usually studying or promoting my prenatal and postnatal classes.
