What was your journey to a career in childbirth education?
I knew women were strong and I wanted to get the word out.
How, where, and what do you teach?
I teach private classes, group CBE. I teach other educators and doulas.
Why did you choose to become a Lamaze Certified Childbirth Educator?
I first certified with ICEA through an excellent program that lasted for 6 months at a nursing school in Cleveland. There was good info on teaching, but the pieces came together for me after I took a Passion for Birth workshop. I recognized that I valued Lamaze at that point and became certified.
What or who influences your teaching?
Teri Shilling, Penny Simkin, Science and Sensibility and many other things
What is your goal as an educator?
Increase confidence, decrease fear

When you're not teaching, what do you enjoy doing?
Sleeping! (yup - that's what my daughter put on her mother's day card when she was in kindergarten) I like to dance, walk in nature, travel, be with extended family and read too.
