How long have you been teaching?
What was your journey to a career in childbirth education?
A year after having my first child, I was still obsessed with birth. I missed teaching and decided to become a childbirth educator. In training, I identified the organization I wanted to work for and just kept showing up till they hired me. Then I became an LCCE a few years later.
How, where, and what do you teach?
Families, in hospitals and clinics, for a nonprofit.
Why did you choose to become a Lamaze Certified Childbirth Educator?
To stay up to date on the evidence, because my personal and professional values align with Lamaze, and for portability/international recognition.
What or who influences your teaching?
My colleagues, current research, popular articles, my students.
What is your goal as an educator?
To build a community of strong kids and families.

Cooking, being outdoors.
