Erin Moyen, LCCE, BDT(DONA), PCD(DONA), CLE
Where do you live?
Sundre, Alberta, Canada
How long have you been in the childbirth field?
Why did you become a doula and childbirth educator?
My experience birthing 2 children in Switzerland was the catalyst behind my maternal-infant health profession. I believe in the importance of continuity and support for childbearing families. Supporting them is a such a great privilege.
What's your favorite moment from your career so far?
Oh my, there's been so many amazing moments! If I have to choose just one it would have to be supporting a single teenage mother-to-be that planned to put her unborn baby for adoption. Throughout her pregnancy we normalized birth, talked through her fears and provided evidence-based education which allowed her to come full circle. She embraced her pregnancy completely and mere moments after her sweet daughter arrived earthside she changed her mind about the adoption. This young lady is now proudly parenting her child.
