When teaching, what is your idea of perfect happiness?
My idea of perfect happiness at the end of class when the students clap and are so excited they feel empowered that they ready to tackle birth and feel confident that they can do it.

What do you regard as the lowest depth of misery as a childbirth educator?
Lowest dept of misery is the lack of support by the hospital delivery MD’s and nurses.  Couples become frustrated when they are not allowed to walk, and in some cases utilize the birth ball they’ve practiced during Lamaze.

What are your most indulgent childbirth educator habits?
Make it more convenient for couples and provide a weekend Lamaze class so students don’t have to come to hospital for 5 sessions.

I consider myself a heroic educator and advocate.

What influences your teaching?
My life and the birth of my three sons influence my Childbirth class teaching.

If you could have any teaching aid, what would it be?
I would love to have state of the art visuals, videos for couples, give aways (car seat, birth ball, how to care for your baby and resources etc).

What is your most marked characteristic in class?
My most marked characteristic in class is encouragement and appreciation that the couples took the time before their baby was born to attend a Childbirth class to prepare for birth and taking the first step to becoming a great parents.

What is your principal weakness as an educator?
At times I am unorganized which leads to impatience.

What is your end goal as an educator?
My end goal as an educator is to empower couples. My greatest accomplishment is when a mother changes her view and decides to Breastfeed her baby rather than bottle feed.
