The following instructors are approved to present the Lamaze Evidence-Based Labor Support for Nurses Workshop. These instructors are all members of Lamaze International who support the mission, vision and Lamaze fundamentals for pregnancy, birth and parenting - they all have extensive backgrounds in the content they are approved to present and evidence-based practice.
Michele Ondeck, RN, MEd, IBCLC, LCCE, FACCE
Michele Ondeck is a nurse with a BS in Sociology and an MEd in Health Education, and has been an experienced childbirth educator for more than thirty years. She is an LCCE, IBCLC, and a trainer for the Lamaze-Accredited Childbirth Educator Program in Pittsburgh, PA. Michele is an approved presenter of the Evidence-Based Nursing Labor Support for Nurses Workshop, and is involved in volunteer activities, travelling and spending time with 4 children and 4 grandchildren.
Michele Nizza, CD(DONA), CMT, CLEC, LCCE, FACCE
Michele has been an active member of her birth community as a doula, childbirth educator and breastfeeding counselor since 2001. Michele also played an active role in developing and presenting content and curriculum for the California Maternal Quality Care Collaborative (CMQCC). Michele is an approved presenter of the Evidence-Based Nursing Labor Support for Nurses Workshop.
Maria J. Brooks, RNC-OB, LCCE, FACCE
Maria is a Labor and Delivery nurse at Pennsylvania Hospital, a large urban academic hospital in Center City, Philadelphia. She is an approved instructor for the Evidence-Based Nursing Labor Support for Nurses Workshop and has been a Lamaze Certified Childbirth Educator (LCCE) since 2004.
